Desiree + Anthony - Wedding in Ann Arbor
Back in the fall, I had the opportunity to visit and old friend and meet his awesome wife! In fact, I was there the moment she became his wife!
What a precious gift, to be reunited with a great friend, and to share in such an emotional, life-changing event.
During those rough college years, Anthony was there for me, and I was there for him. We both “dumped” at each other when we were overwhelmed with stress (which was most of the time). We skipped class together, spray painted some public garbage cans, watched The Office, played Area 51 in the Cove…
We both struggled with love during those years. So, to see him making bad puns with a woman who can return with one just as bad, it was kind of magical. Is that dorky to say? When you see someone you’ve known for so long, find a person who just fits, it’s awesome.
As a photographer, I get to be the closest person to the couple the whole day. I sneak them away to be together, just the two of them (and me!), and when they dance, I’m right there. When they share their first piece of cake, I’m standing in front of everyone else. I felt so privileged to be that person.
The whole day, I was hearing stories about these two and how they’ve changed lives with their love and friendship. I didn’t know any of the guests when I arrived, but when I left, I left with so many new friends. This isn’t common! I was really shocked at how many people just wanted to chat with me and share stories. Anthony and Desiree attract those kind of people. People who are kind and extend love.
These are special people, and a very special, blessed family.
