Mini-update - Babies!
Happy Saturday!
I wanted to write up a very short post before I lost my mind again. So much has been going on and I’ve been excited to share, but I haven’t been in a good place to write it down.
I had minor surgery this past monday so I am on medical leave for a couple weeks to recover. I’m doing fine but I am sore and nauseous much of the time. I’m taking medication for the pain and it makes me very sleepy and a bit loopy, so I often can’t remember what words I was going to say next after I start speaking or typing. So, let’s see if I can complete a full thought here.
Medical leave has been great. I feel like I’m getting the rest and peace I’ve been needing. I have time and space to reflect and connect with myself and others. I feel like I’m getting re-energized! Although, I did make the mistake of trying to vacuum yesterday and nearly passed out from over-exerting myself.
So, I just wanted to say, I’m still here, I’m still creating, and I have many stories and images to show soon.
Firstly, I’m excited to say that I have a brand new beautiful and magical little baby niece! She said hello to us on Wednesday Sept. 23! She is such a precious little girl. Her sister is going to be so happy to have her.
Recently, I had the opportunity to hang out with a young family with their young children and take some family portraits with them. It was my first time having a real portrait session and this was especially challenging because it was a decently sized group with mostly children under 3 years old. It was such a great experience and I’m so stoked to talk about it. As you can probably tell from my mish-mashed words, my thoughts are not all that cohesive right now, so I’m going to wait until my mind gets back on one track, but I couldn’t wait to show a sample or two of what I shot that day. So, here you go, a couple of my favorites.
I will write a real entry soon describing how the day went and what I learned from the experience among other great shoots I’ve been able to do lately. See you then!
