Alyssa + Brandon Get Married in Coraopolis
Do you remember this guy? His name is Tyler. But I don’t want to talk about him. I want to talk about his beautiful sister! So, she got engaged to this dude named Brandon, right? And in August they got married! And I was there! AND IT WAS AWESOME.
But let me go back a little bit.
You see, Brandon is in the Air Force. I don’t know much about the ins and outs of military requirements, but I do know that Brandon had to be away from his beautiful lady for several months. So, back in January, we did a gorgeous, chilly engagement shoot just the day before he left. This was my first time really working in depth with these two, and I can get some “first-day-of-school” type butterflies when I work with new clients. But they were so happy and kind, those butterflies didn’t last long.
I told Brandon to pull her in close, and that was pretty much the last instruction I had to give. They were just overflowed with love that they never let go.
The time they had to spend apart was challenging, but man, seeing them back together on their wedding day, it’s like they were never apart.
On their wedding day, I got to meet so many people that love these two. Grandparents, siblings, cousins, work friends… I can’t stress enough how happy this day was for everyone.
Danielle Durbin helped me out on their special day to make sure nothing was missed. It really helps to have a second shooter so I can be with the bride getting ready, and my second can be with the groom! It allows me a lot more time and attention during the prep process especially. These next three are shot by Danielle!
Alyssa got in her dress at the venue.
She was walked down the aisle by her dad!
After the ceremony, we popped over to Settlers Cabin Park for some portraits.
Danielle taught me an important rule that she follows and tells her brides. Don’t look at the weather until the morning of your wedding day. I was watching the weather all week and was getting a little bit nervous about the impending rain we were supposed to get. I made back up plans for if it was raining, but it always makes things a bit more difficult. But you know what? It didn’t rain a drop. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky! We had a truly beautiful day.
After all the lovey dovey stuff, we all danced into the night. This was a great group of party animals! And the DJ, Pat (SoundWaves), was quite possible THE BEST DJ I’ve ever worked with. For one, he made sure I always knew what was going on, what was coming next, and was sure I had the best spot in the house so the bride and groom could have the best photos. And THE PARTY NEVER STOPPED. I’m serious. He was so good at playing what the crowd didn’t even know they wanted, and kept the night bumpin.
I was so glad I could be there for these two. When I got home that night and my husband asked how the wedding was, the best I could do to sum it up was tell him, “It was such a happy day”.
Congratulations, Alyssa and Brandon! Love you two <3
