Crew of Two
Yesterday I had a friend over and we spent a little time on the set while my husband finished making his fresh pasta (drooooool).
It’s rare for me to hang out with other artists these days. Not intentionally, I don’t think. I don’t spend much time with anyone but my husband and cat. No pity needed. I love those two and I have a hard time pulling myself away from them to socialize.
It was good to have her over for many reasons, but having another artistic eye on the set was such a blessing. We were mostly just playing around with vegetables that my husband and I had picked up from the farmers market the day before. They looked so fresh and vibrant so I thought they would be fun to lay out and experiment with. We didn’t spend much time on it, but it was a nice intro to how we work together.
She reminded me to keep an eye on negative space when I over-looked it, and wasn’t shy about gathering different props and moving items around. We even experimented with with adding a human element in shots. I think we make a great team! Working together has been on our to-do lists, and I think this little introductory shoot will encourage us to plan something more formal next time.
