Challah
Today didn’t go as planned. Nothing really got in my way, I just couldn’t get my set organized. I have too many tasks bouncing around in my head and I was trying to do them all without fully understanding what each task was to begin with. But, that’s why I set these days aside to practice, because you’ll have days where things don’t really work out, and you learn how to cope with them and sometimes even learn how to make next time better.
I did pop in to Five Points Artisan Bakeshop for the first time today. We drive by it every morning on the way to work and the windows are always steamed up with the magic of toasty bread birth (does that sound good or gross? I mean it in a good way). I’ve been so curious for a long time, and today I finally made a visit.
Everything looked so good. Today I wanted to find something that interested me visually and this golden braid of challah bread was just what I wanted. I can’t partake in eating bread, but I found joy in lightly squeezing it and hearing it crack. When I cut into it the inside was impossibly light and airy. I need to get rid of it so I don’t eat it myself!
I didn’t quite get the shots I was looking for, but it was a good experience to try out some things I don’t always work with. There is still half of the loaf left so I might work on it some more tomorrow.
